Since it's inception, KALEIDOSCOPE has led an effort to support the educational enrichment programs for youth and children in Fort Bend County.

We are honored that you took the time to find out more about us.

Kaleidoscope was first held as a luncheon in the Spring of 2010 to introduce the members of The Fort Bend Church to the Pastor’s wife, Sonya T. Stevenson.

As a person with a passion for youth and children, Sonya felt that the focus should not be on her but should be an initiative that would help raise funds for a platform that is near and dear to her heart….the educational development and social enrichment of children in Fort Bend County regardless of their socio-economic status.

In 2011, Kaleidoscope was held to raise funds for scholarships and to support enrichment programs for youth and children. As a result of proceeds from Kaleidoscope, three $1,000 scholarships were awarded to deserving students. Youth and children were able to participate in such programs as Easter Bonanzas, Camp Kids of The Bend, Back to School Celebrations, Camp Christmas Camps and local College Tours.

In 2012, the vision grew. Individuals were eager to partner with Sonya and contributed enough funds to increase the number and dollar value of scholarships. Thus, seven $1,500 scholarships were awarded to outstanding students in Fort Bend County. Additional funds went toward further enhancing the existing enrichment programs that were implemented in 2011.

In an effort to continuously expand and gain even more partners, it was decided to that Kaleidoscope should pursue it’s own non-profit status. Early 2013, Kaleidoscope became a 501(c)(3), non-profit, tax exempt organization formally established to focus on the educational development and social enrichment of youth and children in Fort Bend County. In 2016, thanks to the efforts of the inaugural Kaleidoscope Guild, Kaleidoscope was able to award a record number of 13 scholarships. To date, Kaleidoscope has awarded over $200,000 in scholarships to deserving high school seniors in Fort Bend County.

The vision of Kaleidoscope has been massive. Beyond the current offerings and with your generosity, Kaleidoscope will increase the number and dollar value of scholarships awarded as well as launch new programs that will include regular tutorials, leadership development workshops and summer enrichment forums to name a few.

We pride ourselves on being the entity that makes a difference in the lives of youth and children, to the point that they are driven to be successful leaders in today’s society.

We hope you consider partnering with us to make a difference in the lives of youth and children.

We are truly appreciative of your support and hope that you will continue to partner with us in our quest to bless youth and children in Fort Bend County.
